Description

This sign reads: "Welcome to Big Cypress U.S. Indian Reservation. Positively No Hunting, Fishing, Trespassing. Seminole Indian Tribe. US Bureau of Indian Affairs. Sheriff of Hendry County."

The Seminole Council wanted the aid of the federal and Florida governments to ensure that rights on the Indians’ lands were protected from outsiders.
