Native Americans consist of diverse groups of people who have had varying experiences––and developed unique relationships––with the U.S. government over the past 240 years of America’s existence.  While moving through this exhibit, keep in mind that the various tribes of American Indians across the continent hold both common and culturally unique perspectives on how this meeting––and melding––of political cultures has affected their own particular societies.
